M-TAN (Mobile Transaction Number)

atms offers state-of-the art authentication solutions like the ones that are widely used in the banking sector today.

With this solution, a special (alpha)numeric PIN code, which is valid for a limited period of time, is sent by text message to a user’s mobile phone (previously registered). The TAN, which is transmitted via the mobile network, has to be entered in the browser by the customer in order to authorise a specific transaction.

M-TAN solutions
are particularly safe because:

  • The M-TAN is generated by the planned transaction and can therefore only be used for this transaction

  • The user needs to have the relevant, previously registered mobile phone, as well as the user name and password

  • The M-TAN automatically expires after a set period of time

For banks that want to

  • offer their customers modern customer service

  • make online banking as simple as possible

  • transmit transaction numbers in a secure way

Benefits

  • No additional costs for the user

  • Hosted, high-availability solution that is monitored 24/7

  • Reduced operating and support costs for the bank

  • High level of protection against banking trojans

  • Easy to use
