Videogateway

This is a so-called “transcoding platform” in the atms network which performs the transcoding of video calls from circuit-switching  to packet-switching networks and vice versa.

The 3G call is converted into SIP (Session Initiation Protocol: used for establishing, terminating and controlling communication sessions between subscribers. SIP is a frequently used protocol in IP telephony) in real time.

With atms, every customer has the opportunity of linking their own video platform to the atmsTranscoding platform and therefore provide mobile video services without having to invest in their own infrastructure.
